Are Your Massage-Specific Essential Oils Pure Single-Component Essential Oils or Pre-Blended Compound Massage Oils?

We offer both single-component essential oil raw materials and mature pre-mixed massage oil solutions.

If you have your own R&D team or wish to create a differentiated product line, we can provide 100% pure single-component essential oils such as lavender, mint, eucalyptus, rosemary, ylang-ylang, frankincense and so on. It is convenient for you to independently develop by adjusting according to the target market and product positioning.

If you need to get your product to market quickly, we also offer verified blended essential oil for massage systems, significantly reducing your research and development time and trial-and-error costs.

What Is the Standard Concentration Range for Essential Oils in Massage Oil?

In the massage product system, it is commonly suggested to control the conventional concentration of essential oils within 1% – 5%.

  • 1% concentration: Suitable for product designs for children, sensitive skin, and pregnant/lactating populations
  • 2% concentration: Suitable for daily massage oil and body care products
  • 3% – 5% concentration: Suitable for professional massage, SPA, and sports recovery functional products.
Which Essential Oils Should Be Used with Caution or in Limited Quantities in Massage Products?

In the massage oil products’ development, some essential oils need to be used with caution in specific groups of people. And in some cases, they need to be completely avoided.

For example, please avoid using sage essential oils in pregnancy products.

You should also strictly control the peppermint essential oils in products for infants and pregnant women.

Wintergreen essential oils also need to have their usage range restricted because of their strong irritancy.

How to Keep the Essential Oils’ Fragrance for Massage Longer?

Natural essential oils for massage are volatile aromatic substances, so their retention time varies greatly.

In actual product development, if you want to enhance the overall fragrance retention performance, it is recommended to adopt the “front-middle-back blend structure” approach for combination. Especially adding a certain proportion of mid-back blend essential oils can significantly improve the stability and layering of the fragrance.

For example, frankincense, patchouli, cedarwood, sandalwood, and vetiver, and those woody or resinous essential oils have a slower evaporation rate and can fix the fragrance framework in the formula. They can prolong the fragrance’ retention time and also make the overall smell more stable and more suitable for the relaxing attribute during massage for you.

Which Massage Essential Oils Are Suitable for Different Body Parts?

Full-body massage products usually aim for relaxation and soothing, so mild essential oils like lavender and chamomile are more commonly adopted.

Back massage products tend to focus on functional experiences, such as relieving muscle tension or improving fatigue. So you can select essential oils like rosemary, eucalyptus, juniper, or cardamom that are more suitable for such formula designs.

Foot massage products emphasize immediate sensations, and customers usually hope to quickly obtain a cool and relaxing experience. Therefore, you can blend mint and herbal essential oils. Because the skin on the soles of the feet has a stronger absorption capacity, these products are also more suitable for functional enhancement designs.

What Is the Shelf Life of Essential Oils for Massage?

Under sealed, protected from light and cool storage conditions, most massage-specific essential oils have a shelf life from 24 to 36 months.

Among them, citrus essential oils have a higher proportion of active volatile components and thus have a faster oxidation rate. It is generally recommended for you to use them up within 12 to 24 months. Otherwise, there may be problems such as an acidic smell or reduced stability.

In contrast, essential oils of woody or resinous types like frankincense, patchouli, cedarwood, and vetiver have more stable structures and stronger antioxidant capabilities. Under reasonable storage conditions, their quality stability can even be maintained for more than 36 months.
