No. Fragrance oils can create rich, stable, and easily mass-produced fragrances. For example, ocean scents, white musk, vanilla cream, or hotel fragrances. Compared to natural essential oils, they have more fragrance selection, longer fragrance retention time and higher batch consistency. Those making them particularly suitable for large-scale commercial production. While essential oils are more in the natural plant concept and active ingredients and their fragrance types are limited and are easily affected by the location, climate, and seasonal changes.
When developing scented candles, diffusers, or home fragrance products, fragrance oils are usually the preferred solution for you to achieve stable fragrance and high production efficiency.
The fragrance oils’ duration depends on the product type, the usage environment and the composition of the scent.
Generally speaking, our fragrance oils for candles and flameless diffusers last longer retention time than that of natural essential oils. High-concentration fragrances can even last for several weeks to several months in the diffusing system.
If you have specific requirements for fragrance retention, we can recommend an appropriate fragrance formulation, or adjust the proportions of the top, middle, and base notes or even adopt microcapsule technology to achieve long-lasting fragrance retention.
Just tell us the product type and the expected fragrance retention time, and we can customize a solution for you.
Our fragrance oils have excellent compatibility and stability, so they can be widely used in the developing different product lines. WJOIL fragrance oils can be used in products such as scented candles (soy wax, paraffin wax and so on), flameless aromatherapy, rattan diffusers, scented wax sheets, air fresheners, vehicle scents, handmade soaps, liquid soaps, shampoos, conditioners, body washes, body lotions, hand creams, and clothing fragrance sprays.
Whether you are producing aromatherapy products, personal care products, or home fragrance products, our fragrance oils can perfectly satisfy your needs.
Some fragrance types may affect the product’s color over time. Such as vanilla, caramel, chocolate, cinnamon, and some amber fragrance types. With the natural fragrance ingredients, the product color may gradually deepen as the storage time increases.
For candle product development, it is usually recommended for you to add fragrance oil first, and then adjust the dye ratio to avoid color deviation. If it is white candle projects without adding dyes, you can carry out a dedicated stabilizing system to avoid the color change situation.
If your product is transparent soaps, transparent shampoos, gel products, high-end skin care products or others with high requirements for appearance, we can offer you fragrance oils with low colour intensity, minimal colour change or bleached versions. Based on the product system, we will give corresponding solutions to help you reduce the appearance risks after product launch.
When stored in an airtight, protected from light and cool environment, most of our fragrance oils have a shelf life of 24 to 36 months.
Some fragrance types with a woody, resinous and oriental note structure can store an actual longer time due to the fragrant ingredients’ stable structure. While it is more recommended to be used as soon as possible within the recommended shelf life for those fragrance oils with high content of citrus and fruit fragrance notes to achieve the best aroma performance.
It is suggested for you to keep the storage temperature between 10℃ and 25℃ and avoid long-term exposure to sunlight, high temperatures and frequent contact with air.
Flash point is the lowest temperature at which the vapor released by fragrance oils can be ignited when exposed to open flames, sparks, or other ignition sources. For most fragrance oil products, the flash point does not directly affect your consumer’s usage experience. However,it is one of the important technical parameters for you to evaluate the transportation safety, storage management, and process compatibility of the products.
For example, the industry usually recommends choosing fragrance oils with a flash point of no less than 77℃ when developing gel candles to enhance the safety and stability during the production process.
If you are developing candles or other projects involving heating processes, we can give the best fragrance oils with appropriate flash point ranges and provide complete technical support.
The fragrance oils’ actual addition ratio may vary depending on the product type, aroma concentration requirements, formulation system and regulations of the target market.
- Generally, the recommended addition ratio for scented candles is 6%–10%.
- For handmade soaps and liquid soaps, it is usually 1%–3%.
- For body wash and body lotion, it is typically controlled at 0.3%–1%.
- For face cream products, it is usually recommended to control at 0.1%–0.5%.
- For non-flame diffusing products, the addition ratio is usually between 15%–30%.
